@cspanofficial: Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) on Wednesday accused Democrats of wanting a government shutdown and said the only way out is for them to vote for the House-passed stopgap measure.   “Unfortunately, we are here this morning in a government shutdown that the Democrats wanted,” he told reporters. “Chuck Schumer, at the behest of a bunch of liberal, far-left activist groups, has walked his Democrat colleagues into a boxed canyon. There’s no way out, folks. There’s no way out. This could have been avoided.”   Democrats want Republicans to negotiate for their votes and have proposed a slew of health care issues they want to see included in a funding bill. Republicans argue there’s nothing to negotiate over a “clean” short-term funding patch.   “Everybody is now asking the question, how does this end?” Sen.
