I'm tired. Not physically, but mentally. Every time I fail or fall back into the hole I was trying to climb out of, I try to cheer myself up. "It's okay," "You're human, you make mistakes," but it gets to a point where it starts to turn into a coping mechanism. I stop taking responsibility for my actions because I think if I fail, all I have to do is tell myself, "Nobody's perfect." That's true, but when you stop taking responsibility for the choices you make, it becomes a habit. I think it reaches a point where I start to hate myself. I hate myself for the things I do, even though I know I can do better. Should I love myself enough to continue forgiving myself? Or should I hate myself so much that I'm compelled to change and do the right thing?
