From reading the comments, this is the first time I’ve actually understood what Somalis mean when they say they’re not black. I used to think they thought they were better, but actually it’s just reclaiming their identity/ethnicity before the imperialist racial classifications that’s put the rest of us into boxes. Now I get it.
