@kariokubo: Nothing gets our elders hyped like a kachāshī, an Okinawan festive folk dance that we all do at the end of a gathering, celebration, or performance. Our elders are dancing to a folk song Toshin Doi which is a song that talks about celebrating a trade ship returning from China. Prior to Japanese occupation, the Ryukyu Kingdom had strong trade relations with China which had a lot of influence on our culture.
