@propublica: When former Social Security Administration acting Commissioner Leland Dudek was first elevated into his position by President Donald Trump after going around his bosses to connect with DOGE, he was hopeful. He believed the agency was in need of a technological upgrade and that the DOGErs could help implement it. Instead, DOGE ignored urgently needed reforms at the agency in favor of quick and often empty wins. Listen to ProPublica reporter Eli Hager, who spoke with Dudek for 15 hours and interviewed dozens of Social Security insiders, explain the untold saga of what happened when DOGE stormed Social Security. 📰: Eli Hager 🎨: Michelle Rohn for ProPublica
Republicans have been undermining modernizing government for decades in order to save money but that made government less efficient. Republicans don’t want to government to work They want to privatize government services

It’s wild that Dudek was promoted from middle management to head of the whole agency!

zero sympathy for this guy. he's walking back things now that he's gotten the boot, saying he just wanted what was best, but he was just a disgruntled mid-level dweeb who loved trump and wanted power. He should be charged with treason for sharing information and data with these unvetted individuals.
