So for roots, you simmer in the amount of water you’re using for the tea? And what if you also want delicate herbs in your blend? How do you incorporate those?

Quick question- for roots like ginger after you’ve simmered it for 20-30 min are you supposed to let it steep for hours for medicinal purposes? So like simmer then more to a container for a few hours prior to consumption?
