I honestly expected better from Hulu. What they’ve put out feels less like responsible storytelling and more like a platform for a narrative that—at least in my view—sets victim-survivors back decades. The constant shifts in her story, the backtracking, the way the details seem to morph each time she tells it… that’s exactly why women struggle to be believed. The difference between a light touch or minor physical contact and the very serious claim of assault matters, and blurring that line is dangerous. We all saw what happened, and the version being pushed just doesn’t align. And then there’s the so-called “affair storyline.” When the two people directly involved say it didn’t happen, that should be the end of it. Full stop. The fact that this narrative kept rolling anyway—despite denials—feels bizarre and irresponsible. It’s disappointing that Hulu aired this without stronger scrutiny, especially when a child is being folded into the storyline. In my opinion, it’s reckless, it’s harmful, and it undermines real survivors who fight every day to be heard and believed.
