I always use No-al-ox for Aluminum, Kopr-shield for Copper. Aluminum base protectant for Aluminum, Copper base protectant for Copper.

my mother's house is old as heck and some of the old electric is still there but needs replaced ASAP, im no electrician, I can do basic bits but would love to get some input, she has an old michigan basement to which makes me nervous because of the moisture from the rocks and dirt floor 😅

Can you elaborate why it is a good idea to change the polarity of the slip rings? Whenever I’ve seen uneven collector ring wear, it’s usually attributed to heavy vibration or poor heat dissipation.

Noalox grese in the crimp before ya squeeze, telcordia/att/verizon telco power plant spec for refrence… only other “mod” would be dual-wall heatshrink on the lug….. personally i woulda used long-barrel tinned lugs. Other than that, nice work bud!
