@iwishiwastheredude: A moving fact about Eric Clapton and “Tears in Heaven” is that he originally wrote it while working on the soundtrack for the 1991 film Rush—but the song became deeply personal after the tragic death of his 4-year-old son, Conor, that same year. Clapton has said the lyrics came from imagining what it would be like if he could meet his son again in heaven and ask if things would still be the same. What’s especially striking is that Clapton almost didn’t release the song publicly because it was so personal, but when he did, it resonated with millions of people worldwide, becoming one of his biggest hits and a piece of music that continues to help people process grief… I wish I was there dude… #ericclapton #70s #music
In 1992 his son had been gone less than a year. I have no idea how he didn’t break down crying.

What’s the difference between a bag of cocaine and a baby? Eric Clapton would never let a bag of cocaine fall out of a window.

No. He’d been sober for two years and the birth of his son gave him the impetus to get and stay sober despite the drug problem he had earlier in his life🙏🏻
