As a native Arabic speaker, one thing I noticed was the prominence of the “kh” sound. People make fun of Arabic for that sound, but when I hear Hebrew it’s far more prominent to my ears.

what is Semitic? I don't think Amharic sounds anything like Arabic or Hebrew. Also Hebrew is a northwest Semitic language and Arabic is central Semitic so they developed very differently over the ages
