One of my mentees asked three questions during the ALX masterclass. Every VA needs these answers 🔥 Question 1: Should I do SEO on LinkedIn or my resume? BOTH. But understand the difference. LinkedIn SEO means using keywords about what you do, who you help and how you help them so the algorithm pushes your profile to the right people. We do this during the bootcamp when we optimize your LinkedIn. Resumes don't work with SEO. They work with ATS. Applicant Tracking Systems scan for keywords from the job description. So instead of SEO on your resume think ATS friendly. Match the keywords on the job posting to the keywords on your resume. If they match you pass the scan. If they don't your resume never reaches a human. Question 2: How long before I follow up on a cold pitch? 5 to 7 working days. Send the pitch today. Follow up Friday or Tuesday next week. But do NOT follow up on a pitch that wasn't read. I teach tools in the bootcamp that show you if your email was opened. If it wasn't read a follow up is wasted. Also don't follow up 15 times. Two to three follow ups show persistence. Ten shows desperation. After three move on to the next prospect. Question 3: Should I put my client's photo and details on testimonials? NEVER without permission. Run everything through your client first. Ask if you can use their photo, title and organization name. And if a client is willing to give you a VIDEO testimonial? Take it. Video testimonials carry more credibility than anything else on your portfolio. These are the questions beginners are afraid to ask. Don't be. Ask them. That's how you grow.
