A copycat infrastructure of technology won't help China much. They either need to establish a culture of consistent novel works and technologies or they need to stop pretending like they are the next big thing. You don't suddenly take over the world by consistently copying all the way.

TSMC is based in Taiwan. They make Nvidia's chips. China may have us beat on the hardware, but the most advanced AI is backed by Nvidia software. If China wants to do any Business in the west it will have to be on an Nvidia platform. They will probably become the leader in replacing workers with AI, but as far as tasks involving information, Nvidia will be in the lead for a long time.

Everyone is missing the bigger picture. China doesn't need a more powerful chip. DeepSeek demonstrated that NVIDIA's cutting-edge GPUs aren't necessary for breakthrough AI. Even more concerning: they showed that Chinese suppliers like Huawei can provide less powerful chips that, when paired with smarter algorithms, deliver comparable results or better results.
