My sister kept her wedding cake for a year and she got married in 2001. It was a thing back then. As long as you keep it in the freezer it stays fresh. Best to thaw before consuming . My wedding cake unfortunately was too yummy so it didn’t make it home 😂 would have kept some

Where I’m from, it’s tradition for the top layer to be fruit cake and it gets saved for this exact same reason🥰 ( I don’t like fruit cake so maybe I’ll do it this way too🤭)
