some people are saying tipping in Japan is rude/insulting but not true! we don't have that culture so we usually don't accept any tips. BUT depending on where and how you tip them, we do accept. like at Ryokan some people tip them and it's called お心付け or at restaurants you can say お釣りは結構です means no change. if you find a place you really enjoy and love to tip, you can always try!

I think gifting is better than tipping. Like give them an energy drink or coffee can. Or chocolate / sweets souvenir from your country- like magnets, keychains. I did give them magnet and they put it in the restaurant
