Wow! While I commend the police for their work, and understand they are confronted with scary situations, if they are afraid to act, they may need to consider switching out their badge for a desk job. They heard a woman crying for help during a violent assault and did nothing, allowing the suspect to inflict serious injuries. Their poor communication and unprofessional jokes about the victim being a "demon" are unacceptable. There are several things that were not handled properly. I hope the victim has seen this and sues the police department and the city.

These cops are incompetent. They act like they’re all training/first day on the job. And this man was clearly in a severe mental health decline and crisis that has probably been ongoing for years. This is awful.

Just my opinion, but I strongly feel that in order to become a police officer it should be mandatory that you serve in the military first because goodness fucking gracious how many people does it take to breach a fucking bathroom??? It’s a long corridor, 1 way in, 1 way out with one officer to take lead while the other watches his back. If you’re going to waste precious time that the victim might not have cause you want to play it safe then stick to filing the paperwork. Policing is a dangerous job, so if you ain’t ready to put your life on the line and jump into dangerous situations then find another profession cause this could’ve ended a whole lot worse.
