I used to ask my ex to not make promises he wouldn't keep. so don't say you'll fill the stocking and not do it. he refused to even do that much. insisted on making the promise and then getting upset with me for being let down.

Yup. I came from a random trinket / hand lotion/ toothbrush/ little toys and socks kind of stockings my husband had like very expensive stuff in his. Boy was he disappointed that first year lol

my husband would NEVER. when we were broke, we could only afford stocking stuffers. so we would go to the dollar store, split up, and secretly buy things for the others stocking. now its a tradition

I asked him to do my stocking 2 years ago, so he filled it with a chocolate bar I like, like 10 of them. Then last year, he forgot completely/didn’t do anything. I scrounged some things up last minute but sad panda.
