I’m running Melbourne Half Marathon here in Aus and my tbs has been playing up shockingly! Would you rest completely the next 9 days and do non impact cardio? Run on fresh legs

I’m running Chicago next week — it’s my first marathon ever. This was honestly the best video I could have came across right now. Thank you for all your insight, content like this truly helps us beginners a lot!

I’m training at 5,000 ft of elevation and racing at sea level, how should I expect to feel aerobically on race day? And will that affect performance?

Biggest fear at this point is the government shutdown canceling the dc marathon. This is the most I’ve trained for a race 😭

I always recommend for marathoners is “enjoy it and smile”, when your 1st is over it’s over, you’ll never get it back and also, we never know when our last one will be, so run it like it’s the last. 🏃🏼♀

This is such perfect advice. Especially sticking to YOUR pace; especially the first half. You don’t suddenly become a minute faster per mile on race day. Run what you trained for.

I have my first marathon in less than 3 weeks and I really needed this advice. I liked the “we are safe” part especially because of all the talk I see surrounding rhabdo. I’ve been following my plan since June but the anxiety of the pain is creeping! Thanks Coach

I’ll be running my 21st Chicago and 32nd overall October 12th. I have listened to so many tips and coaches over the years. You are, by a good measure, the best I have heard and a real asset to any runner willing to listen to you! Thanks so much!

How do you get through the “pain cave?” Obviously there will be some discomfort when running a marathon but towards the end it really feels hard to keep pace and not walk, how do you power through that or help to prolong the distance you hit the pain cave at?
