Tbh sprinting is the most anabolic form of running but because that time under tension is so short the overall mechanical tension response isn’t high enough to trigger significant muscle growth. Improving sprint performance makes you able to control your fast twitch muscle fibers to activate really fast, but the exercise is to explosive to trigger significant muscle growth. Increasing muscle mass can still be optimal for sprinting performance but that doesn’t mean that sprinting itself cause a lot of muscle growth. That’s why basically all elite sprinters also lift weights or increase overall muscle mass and force they can produces.
