@steven: That quick dopamine hit is costing you long-term happiness. Dr. Robert Lustig explains how the things that give us instant dopamine, like sugar, constant scrolling, or daily distractions, end up hijacking the brain. The more you chase quick pleasure, the more it rewires you toward craving short-term highs while leaving you emptier in the long run. Do you think we’re addicted to chasing short-term dopamine? #health #dopamine #podcast #healthy #clips
I think people can get dopamine release and pleasure from things like their careers and positive things. I think this is being made into an evil unnecessary.

I believe like he said you're not in control but when you are aware you realize moderation is the key and you just control your amount of what you choose to indulge in and understand the consequences of fast validation versus the pleasure of working towards. Quick validation burns out quick but working towards your goal you gain dopamine during the process. And as long as your always evolving in moderation, you'll always gain small amounts of dopamine that u can handle. My theory I guess

Everyone on Earth is addicted to dopamine we just get it in different ways. However, what dopamine truly does to people with ADHD still needs to be studied. I’m currently working on a theory that has helped me stay focused for six weeks straight without losing consistency. This is coming from someone who couldn’t even focus on reading for two hours back in my secondary school or university days.

Great discussion. That never-ending cycle of consumption is the cost of emotional avoidance. The more you chase control to feel safe, the more stress you generate, pushing you deeper into the consumption cycle.
