I think it’s because of how we’re shaped from the start. Men are told their worth is tied to pride and sexual territory — so when they’re betrayed, the first punch is to their ego: “Did you sleep with him?” Women are taught that love and being chosen make us safe. So when we’re betrayed, the pain goes straight to the heart: “Do you love her? Is she better than me?” It’s not weakness — it’s fear of being replaced in the space we thought was ours. And honestly, it’s cruel how culture builds us this way. Different questions, same heartbreak.
