those pencils are awesome, aren't they? I've been using one for a couple weeks now. the lumber yards got stingy and was sick of buying them. I'm glad they got that way cuz those pencils are great 😂

I have done my share of stairs and you’re spot on about accumulating errors. That’s why many stringers end up with marks on both sides lol. I will definitely try this. And thank you for sharing.

Usually tread material is 1” but flooring material can be anywhere from 0 for carpeting to 3/4” for hardwood so don’t forget to factor in your 1st rise and last rise allowances .
