I currently have a patient who screams all night and bit his own finger off because of how distraught he gets at night because he wants his wife and he even asks to be sedated and wants sleeping medication, his wife has asked the dr for sleeping medication and every nurse that worked a night shift with this guy has also asked for sleeping medication and the dr still won’t do it

I’m a Labor And Delivery nurse and I honestly can say that our OB take our suggestions 99% of the time . Maybe because I know them and work with them closely so they trust us.
