the hardest part is finding the exact item you wanted and then it's not in your size.

I remember buying a pair in 2016 at forever 21. I still have them and on occasion. they are just a good basic summer shoe.

I’m here to confirm that it’s just as emotional when you owned and loved the shoes/coat/dress/top hat 40 years ago and don’t know whether it was lost in one of a hundred house moves, or is still mouldering in a suitcase upstairs. (I did find a suitcase in my loft during lockdown and it was *full* of my 1980s clothes. So they’re back in my wardrobe).

They look so much like ghillies (Irish dance shoes), except for the pointy toe box.

They’re ghillies! I have a similar pair, popular in many eras.

That catalog is 1980s. I saved the $45 to buy pointy flats (and I made $3 an hour). My mom taking me to the second John Fluvog store to buy them was a big deal, just getting shoes from Britain was really hard to get.

Susan Jamison :
My hair is super straight. I had many perms in the 80s to achieve those styles. We wore lots of “elf boots” and “granny boots” then, in black of course. 50s vintage dresses were very popular for the 80s art girl. 🖤
