The original trainer also only worked with him for 5 sessions and the owner refused to get a crate until session 4. She’s not accepting the reality of what owning a dog like Beans is. She doesn’t truly care about Beans wellbeing - she just wants a fast fix and views.

here’s my shiba inu who resource guarded. i’ve treated her with the help of a behavior consultant and lots and lots of R+ work. she is much better now and i treat her with love and kindness. the video of Beans made me cry.

I’m currently attempting to train our DM because we couldn’t find a trainer that was affordable and could train a blind/deaf dog. She’s been doing better every day but a big part that’s helped her is her crate and structured nap time. Consistency and structure helps them so much. 🥺 I’m so thankful we’ve been able to curb any aggression with her. I feel so bad for this dog.

I’m now almost two years in to owning and training my Shiba Inu/ Korean Jindo mix. Both breeds are predisposed to being very independent and stubborn, same sex aggression and resource guarding. They are certainly not for unprepared beginner dog owners. But with proper training and appropriate enforcement using the right tools, they make amazing dogs. Poor Beans is not be afforded this opportunity sadly because his owner is more concerned with content.

I don’t like the guy and I don’t think he is helping beans but to be fair how would he have any idea that another trainer offered this… sounds like the owner didn’t want to not have content so I doubt she told the new guy about the offer

I’m glad we’re talking about it. I am 100% ok with e-collars but what that guy is doing is appalling. He didn’t even have the remote in his hand while antagonizing him. His timing was retaliation not training.
