It’s super hard for nursing home staff to properly care for people. They’re so understaffed. Like 1 person to 20-40 people. Don’t be upset at the workers. Be upset at the higher ups who decide staffing ratios.

day cnas usually have one side of the hall each. if they babysat your father they'd get reported for neglecting someone else. sorry but if he's not in danger they don't have time. take him home if you can do better

Check on dad often. My mom forgot how to feed and drink for herself and they never did it for her. My mom eventually passed away, but my heart is broken.

The reality is that these places are understaffed. It's tough to see. We tried three for respite with my mom and it was the same at every single place. She's home now on hospice.

That is why you show up at different times. If they know your schedule they only take care of them when you’re coming. Places are so under staffed.

We have a small private adult family care home. Only 4-5 residents. We give them each very special care and they are like family to us. Support your local small family owned Care home facility 🫶🏼🫶🏼 they get the best QOL

I had the same conversations when it came to my Mom💜 I eventually got her on Hospice, not because she was going to pass away anytime soon, but to get her that extra care she needed that the Home wasn’t providing..they were a godsend!💜 You’re doing amazing!!

Oh honey, I feel your frustration. I had days just like that. But I also know that my mom was loved and cared for in her memory care unit. Continue to be the gentle, loving squeaky-wheel. The staff notices. And, for the most part, they do the best they can. The system is horrible - in terms of the low pay and lack of respect that these care-givers (my angels) receive in general.

Nursing homes are so understaffed it’s criminal it is criminal I’ve worked in nursing homes and nurses have up to 25 to 30 patients alone to give up medication’s and CNA‘s or medical assistance they have the same for like two of them it’s not right nursing homes need to get more funding to get more staff to help these people I’m gonna be there Sunday and I’ll probably not get the help I need it’s really sad

So sorry 😞 this must have been so difficult to see. I would be very upset too. It’s not right, everyone should have the respect of having their basic needs met. I would be in the administration office so fast. It’s good you have a video record.
