I miss midnight releases, standing in line, getting hyped up by talking to others waiting.

I've been gaming since the Atari 6400. it's been an amazing 45 + years. I never paid for anything. you earned your rewards through progress. we didn't troll. now I fight with my wife to give my kids gaming time. she was never a gamer. but I can no longer find a game for me. I can't find that game like Zelda, metal gear, Mario, halo, original nba2k, socom. can't find that game i live.

no cheating, we had actual competition, no after market products giving unfair advantages. micro transactions.. main killer of all games.

Micro transactions, the skill gap between people wanting to just play the game and others taking it way too seriously.

Another thing is we’re so far into games that like it’s hard to make something original and another thing is mostly a lot of games/people lost interest in storytelling

Content creation has ruined gaming. Everything is about going viral, or getting spoilers out first. It’s changed the design of games. It’s no longer about sharing experiences and all about marketing

Games have become far less about telling compelling stories filled with wonder and adventure. Nowadays it’s a space designed for streamers, pushing political agendas and micro transactions.

Man, i thought iam the only one who says all this, "best weapon this, best skills are this, best class is!" this ruined so much of games for me. No MMO is fun anymore, nothing to find out nothing to see all Meta chasers should burn in hell for this.

LAN party’s were epic to get everyone together and hang. We also would hook them up to our racks while we were underway in the coast guard. It would lead to better conversations and you could dive into another world.

I think the thing that ruined videogames personally is having to pay for things after buying the game. I think that streaming and videos for some games allow you to have a sense of community with others from that game. Example, the Minecraft life series or hermit craft. they don't tell you how to play, or what to do. it's a group of friends just having fun together and putting it out there

I've said this so many times in comment fields, but all I get is backlash. You don't need to watch the tutorials, you don't need to follow the meta's ect. Refuses to see that it affects other players in multiplayer.

Yep the sense of adventure is definitely gone, no games just feel rewarding anymore. Everything’s giving and no one’s satisfied, like I truly miss story rich games.

There were no "Meta" builds. No streamers no super sweats playing 15+ hours a day. A game came out complete and didn't sit in Beta for 10 year's. No loot boxes / battle passes DLCs were very worth the money. glad I got to experience it. Not looking forward to almost any newer games these days. Glad I made the friendships I did when it was better.

Adventure and storytelling. There are still some good stories, but there were so many more single player campaign games that took a long time to complete. Now you buy games and it’s like let’s get through the 4 hour campaign so we can play multiplayer
