The “i” stands for fuel injection, replacing carburetors to improve drivability and refinement. Under the rear deck sits a 4.9-liter flat-12 producing about 340 hp, paired with a gated 5-speed that gives mid-engine balance. Styled by Pininfarina, the 512BBi is wide, low, and beautifully restrained. Obvious clean wedge lines, pop-up headlights, and none of the excess of the later Testarossa. Just 1,007 examples were built between 1981 and 1984, making it a rare piece of Ferrari history.
