Here’s the thing… artists write from wherever they are at the time. I was surprised last night but gave it another listen and loved it. Lover - not exactly TTPD. Midnights - not exactly Lover. Artists are allowed to write records not everyone loves. It was clear she was coming from a far different place mentally than TTPD.

So far I’m underwhelmed because I thought with Max Martin producing it was going to be pop confections that become earworms that can’t escape my head. There were no instant “bops” for me. Lyrically, it was disappointing too.

I didn’t like it either. Lyrically it was really bad. When I said this on another post, I was told I’m not a true fan. It’s ridiculous.
