Girl please stop first of all davido is Nigerian Accra is in Ghana your points are valid but wrong at the same time like a lot of African-American things are inspired by African culture and in of this we are just creating an unnecessary division because at the end of the day we are all black

My thing is if our black American ancestors didn’t put in that work like they did l. Nobody would have been able to even migrate from their home countries to over here peacefully

This “discourse” is tiring but people gotta understand these conversations are necessary in order to improve relations and unity between our peoples. Ignoring what black Americans have to say might aswell be white supremacist propaganda.

If anybody in the diaspora is talking about the next, it’s pure ignorance. White supremacists hate all of us as a collective; if they blaming eachother and not the perpetrators for our division, they are deluded and taken.

As an example of what I mean. Irish dancing vs Memphis Jukin' Yeah Memphis Jukin looks cool but that's not the same thing, because Irish dancing is exclusive to an ethnic group and nationality. Memphis Jukin is associated with a city. Now if we want to take it further. Than yes MJ is form of popping and locking which is part of Hip Hop. Hip Hop began in New York. So its New York culture. At no time did Hip Hop not involve Caribbeans. It always involved African Americans from the South and Caribbean people.

Now to be fair , when it comes to having or not having culture. This means something different coming from "Africans" vs Caribbean people

Yall we are all black!!!! Im a first Gen African born in the us and I was raised traditionally but living in the us I got the best of both worlds. Bottom line the main problem here is the ignorance! Our skin looks the same so we are the same just different life experiences

So all the artist activist with carribean bloodline that contributed to the black culture like Malcolm X (mother from Grenada), Stokely Carmichael/Kwame Ture (born in Trinidad), Harry Belafonte (Jamaican-American), Marcus Garvey (Jamaican), John Brown Russwurm (born in Jamaica), Richard Benjamin Moore (born in Barbados), Arturo Alfonso Schomburg (Puerto Rican), Hermina Huiswoud (Guyanese), Otto Huiswoud (Surinamese), and Shirley Chisholm (spent childhood years in Barbados) lil kim, foxy brown, nicki minaj, trina,Rihanna, pepa from salt and peppa, left eye,Alicia keys, cardi b,biggie, wyclef Jean, bob marley, busta rhymes, asap rocky, krs one, kodak black The list goes on all the countless DJs and artist that are of african and carribean roots are not soulan this doesn’t even make sense when carribeans and africans have had a huge impact on the black american culture and hip hop culture DJ Kool Herc is the father of hip hop and hes jamaican what are we talking about this is a joke you do realize how much influence the carribean and african culture has impacted what we call black culture from the style to the spiritual practices how we disrespect it when we helped shape the culture heavily😂
