Why is every rental you move into filthy, but I have only ever left mine spotless, then told it’s not good enough so fork out for a bond clean!

Every rental I moved into was never clean! There were used cotton tips in the bedroom, oil marks all over the kitchen cupboards and it stunk like spices in the whole house. Carpets definitely had not been vacuumed or steam cleaned.

Our agent took “window cleaning fee” out of our bond. It was hand marks from random people looking through the windows AFTER we moved out. They didn’t do the vacate inspection until 2 WEEKS after we vacated

Got told once to go back and revacuum the carpet. Went back, placed the vacuum on the floor, phoned the agent and said "Done". She came down ten minutes later and said "oh yes this is much better. I'm happy to sign off on your full bond being returned"... So there was nothing wrong with the floor, she just wanted to feel important and in control I guess.

I’ve never moved into a clean property!! And the real estates haven’t cared when I’ve called them. I had to even steam clean the carpet to a rental the day I got the keys, and had to postpone moving in and I wasn’t compensated at all for it because the previous tenant supplied a receipt from a carpet cleaning company. 🫣

got bond deducted as they said we hung a mirror up. I emailed them the photo showing their property listing with the property managers reflection in that mirror dated before we signed the lease.

I’d love to go into a realestate workers house just too see if their houses are up to this standard since it’s so important. This is why I gave up bond cleaning. 😂

got called back because the grass was growing unevenly and needed to be mowed again... because it rained and took them 5 days to do the exit report... luckily our mower men went over it again for free 😅

100% agree cleaning anxiety & PTSD is due to landlords & real estate agents! I once had a real estate expect the house to look like a “SHOWROOM” for rental inspections

Unless there is a receipt for a profession bond clean prior to you moving in and you mark everything in your ongoing inspection report they cannot force you to pay for a bond clean. Don’t get caught up in the lies of real estates. I’m a ex property manager and you can only expect a tenant to return a property my in the same condition it was rented out in with fair wear and tear. Don’t let the real estate get away with this ever. 🥺
