I’m a bit confused, i get the fact that is useful to nest, so that you can always edit inside the nested clip and affect all of the pieces of nested clip in the main timeline at the same time. But why cut first and then nest? Wouldn’t be better to directly nest the whole clip, and cut the nested one, so inside the nested clip I got only one continuous clip I can easily edit using also the effect control?

I use nesting for when it doesn’t work and I can’t figure out the solution. It just works. 🤷🏻♂️
