I don’t like this theory because Shane abandoned Rick in the hospital and he went off the deep end I think having him completely lose it on purpose shows how easily corrupted people can become in times of distress and the fact that Rick still sees him as a friend in later years shows how incredible a person Rick is he overcame the corruption

I think the scene we got served Rick's character development more. So alltough this would be a tragic scene. I think the one we got was the better scene.

That’s not exactly true. If I remember correctly, this is what Shane said should have been in the script what he would have written it as it got denied because they had already written everything but what he would’ve wanted, and it seemed the way he said it like he thought about a lot of of this after the fact as well.

That wasnt in the original script. It was Jon Bernthal and Andy Lincolns idea, for it to go down that way, but the writers thought otherwise.
