Totally get this! It was so hard to start with the mindset of it not being a competition with who has it the hardest. We are both carrying different weights for the same family. We are on the same team and his quiet moments don’t take away from me, they just look different than mine. Constantly reminding myself that my hard is valuable to. The work of raising kids and shaping their hearts is holy and important work. And last thing, the enemy will ALWAYS try to pin you and your husband against each other. He hates a happy home.

I completely feel this! I work from home, so i still have a job to complete with a 17 month old. Plus take care of of the house duties.

You do not need to fix your brain. You are do an amazing job and it’s a balancing act. I do as much as I can while he’s at work and then we tag team what I can’t get done

Okay, I'm not a mother and I can't really possibly understand what u going through. but yes your husband does have bad days where he doesn't wants to go to work. and it's beautiful to acknowledge that and try to be receptive of his hardships when he shares them. but I think you deserve grace too. some days you don't want to be an adult with two kids depending on you and you will have hardship and be jealous of your husband. so share with him that. he probably feels jealous that you spend time with the kids and he can't. just... talk to each other. and feel the feelings you feel, it's alright to do that, even if they're "ugly" feelings.

I don’t want to go to work everyday but I also know that I would be jealous of the peace from kids if I didn’t. My kids are 18 & 13, it would have been worse when they were little. Your brain does not need to be fixed but considering different perspectives will help.

I was always jealous that he got that time away until our kids were getting older and I realized that I am so close to them because I've had the opportunity to be so close to them while he had to be at work all the time. He had to miss out to bring home money while I got to make all the memories with our kids

You know the way I look at it is neither of us would want to trade places with the other but both of us can envy the other sometimes and that’s okay. Because both our jobs are sooooooo hard but because we do them our family thrives

your lot alone! as a mom to soon to be 5 sometimes i just want 10 min where I dont hear Mom or someone constantly needing me. I've been a sahm for 8 years. it truly takes a toll on your mental health. after years of doing the same thing you dont want to constantly cook, clean and do other wifey duties. sometimes you just want a damn break!

My kids are grown, all still living at home and a 1 year old grandbaby who I’m helping to raise bc he’s medically complex. I get ZERO peace and quiet and I’m jealous of everyone who can go work a normal job bc I do so much and don’t even get a thank you. I just want to go to the bathroom alone but even the dog follows (he is currently sniffing the door whining wanting me to let him in…my daughter will join me to have conversation and my boys will stand outside the door and keep talking.

My husband is blue collar, labor intensive job with no lunch that is very dangerous. I’m definitely not jealous 😂

Oh my God, it’s such the truth… I remember when I had my first son and my husband was laying concrete on the side of the house… I just wanted to lay concrete😳😱😂🥰🙏🏻

it's totally OK for both things to be true. yes our husbands work hard and have to show up whether they want to or not, AND, we have to as well. we're not holidaying at home, and the small amounts of choice and comfort we have being at home, keeps us sane while carrying a big load of the house and kids' constant and urgent needs.
