Wai’ānapanapa State Park is a 120-acre park that features a volcanic coastline, seabird colonies, blowholes and freshwater caves. 🌋 Wai’ānapanapa means glistening waters and the beach has Pailoa, or the famous black sand which really is fine volcanic rocks. ‼️ You NEED to reserve in advance, and time lots do sell out so try to do this as early as possible. The Wai’anapanapa State Park is located along the Road to Hana. We wanted to book the earlier time slots but they were sold out for the entire 5 days of our trip, we chose the 3 pm entrance which is the latest. You have to book at least one day in advance. 💵 Fees: $10 per vehicle for parking $5 per person for entrance There’s hiking trails and campgrounds in addition to the beach.
