Right! Cars have become an anchor that pulls so many people to their financial doom. They’ve become so so so expensive and people who cannot afford them are stretching the payments out for 8 years!! It’s insane.

CRVs are great cars.. i don’t know how someone can complain about it. CRVs and RAV4s are the go-to recommendation for anyone that wants a mid size suv

I get what youre saying and as a general concept you are correct. But, its 2025 and we do have 3 row family cars now that were not really a thing 20+ years ago. A family of 4 is easy to fit into any car or suv the bigger the easier, but once you add that 3rd kid, having a 3rd row vehicle with that level of additional interior space while not absolutely necessary, makes life entirely more easy and enjoyable for the day to day and especially for long road trips/vacations etc. But yes no car is perfect they will always do some things well and others not so well. You get what you want or can afford and enjoy life. That said, there is enough data to know what cars have a higher probability of disappointing the buyer or satisfying the driver. I always advise to follow that data.

This!!! I currently have a ford escape and it has potential transmission issues. I’m looking at a Toyota Corolla because it makes financial sense. I’d LOVE a RaV4, but I simply don’t think it’s a good financial decision.

Some of us grew up car people. Some of us consider our cars our second home because so much time is spent in them. Some of us need to be as specific about the cars we spend THOUSANDS of dollars for just like the homes we live in. Some of us grew up in scarcity and want to live a life where we don’t have to just “make things work” and we get to choose what we want and we’re grateful for it. And cars aren’t cheap. And a lot of them don’t hold up. Getting a Corolla and making it work could cost you more in the long run on repairs etc than being picky and getting a better car.

I have a 2018 subaru forester with 2 children, 3&5. It’s fully paid off so it’s not going anywhere. We have plenty of room for 4.

i mean i did just get a compact suv for just me, but i did drive my small compact hatchback until it died. also i do have to transport my parents and a walker semi-regularly. but yeah. not everything has to be huge and expensive.

Anyone can touch grass if they want but I refuse to drive a car without an overhead camera. My cars also cost 100k but I literally get mad every time I park if I don’t have an overhead camera 😂 I work 80+ hrs a week I want an overhead camera lol

I 100% agree but I will say as a family of 5 that drives a compact suv it rough. It’s hard to get a car seat in the middle as well as getting the middle child in and out. We are trading it in and buying a used mini van
