Whaat? None of that is true. I'm 51 born & raised in SJ and still live here. I contest that maybe only one thing is true. Probably the rent, but I only pay $1,350 a month and live in Evergreen area, Other than that, everything else is not.

Night life is not failed. Weekends are 🔥 lit. Same club owners since the 70s and they are not failing, The low riding community is accepted and respected by city hall. If you don’t like our bars then go to Fremont

I remember San Jose back in the 1960s and it was a very small place. I still don't consider in San Jose much of a city. it just doesn't have areas most cities do.

City of San Jose tore down an entire neighborhood by Colombus Park(Taylor St & Coleman Ave) to make way for new flight paths for the expansion of San Jose International Airport. This also stopped the city from building more high rises downtown. What they didn’t anticipate was the tech boom that would then make SJ “The Capitol of Silicon Valley” due to it being the largest city in the South Bay Area. This is why San Jose cannot keep up with the glamour of San Francisco. Instead of a thriving neighborhood, Columbus Park became the cities largest homeless encampment.
