Most hd trucks like that return to passenger tank and feed across to the drivers tank and ds tank feeds the engine

On my L8000 there’s a line that runs from one tank to the other to keep an even fuel between the two.

Good trick to remove the rust from an old tank: Put round stones in it and a bit of water and rotate it. Optimal is to strap it to a tractor tire and drive around with it a day or so while you're doing other work 🥲

The line on the tank on the bottom of the tank is the pick up and the top of tank should be the return that’s why there is no pick up tube inside
