Recently, there has been an uptake in videos online where people recommend things they “find chic” or tips and tricks to “become chic.” And throughout all of this, I couldn’t help but notice how this is the exact playbook that has defined beauty standards for women. It’s a constant cycle, and half the time it gets inverted over the course of history. One day being skinny and petite is the standard because that represents control and dignity and another day being curvy or thick is sought after because it represents financial freedom. So the common denominator is that the demographic who benefits is always the same!!! Anyways, this one is just me straight yapping for four minutes sorry guys.
