AMBULANCE RESTORED TO SERVICE AS GHANA WATER LIMITED MD FULFILS PROMISE TO BUSUNU COMMUNITY The Executive Secretary to the Managing Director of Ghana Water Limited (GWL) and Board Member of the Ghana Community Water and Sanitation Agency, Lawyer Issifu Kudus Gbeadese, today officially handed over a fully repaired ambulance to the people of Busunu in the West Gonja Municipality. The ambulance was originally donated to the Busunu community several years ago by the Managing Director of Ghana Water Limited, Hon. Adam Mutawakilu, during his tenure as Member of Parliament for the Damongo Constituency. However, the vehicle had broken down over the years due to inadequate maintenance and had remained out of service. During Phase I of the stakeholder engagements for the Damongo and Tamale Water Supply Projects, Hon. Adam Mutawakilu paid a courtesy call on the Busunuwura. At the meeting, the Busunuwura appealed to him to assist in repairing the community’s ambulance. The Managing Director gave his assurance and has now fulfilled that commitment by restoring the vehicle to full working condition. Presenting the ambulance on behalf of the Managing Director, Lawyer Issifu Kudus Gbeadese urged the people of Busunu to take collective ownership of the vehicle by ensuring its proper maintenance and protection. He conveyed the Managing Director’s caution that the unfortunate incident in which salt was allegedly poured into the ambulance’s engine in the past should never be repeated, stressing that the vehicle is a vital community asset intended to provide emergency healthcare services to all. Receiving the ambulance, the Busunuwura expressed profound appreciation to Hon. Adam Mutawakilu for honouring his promise. He commended the Managing Director for his continued commitment to the welfare of the people and prayed for God’s guidance, strength, and success for him in his office. The restoration of the ambulance is expected to significantly improve emergency healthcare delivery and strengthen access to life-saving medical transportation for the people of Busunu and its surrounding communities.
