the first one is actually the villain of a campaign I'm currently writing, they were a healer in a great war but when healing wasn't good enough they began dabbling in necromancy, at first just to defend themselves while healing the ones who could be saved but over time they began reanimating a lot more than healing and eventually became a litch

Most of these aren't villains at all though. The "moment preserver" is a villain sure, but the others aren't causing more suffering, just justifying the suffering around them.
