Place it into a clean glass jar. Add 2 tablespoons cane sugar and 2 cups filtered water. Stir well until the sugar starts dissolving. Cover the jar with cheesecloth and secure it with a rubber band. Let it ferment at room temperature on your kitchen counter, not in the dark, not in direct sunlight. Step 2: Feeding the fermentation (Days 2–4) After 24 hours, add 1 tablespoon ginger and 1 tablespoon cane sugar. Stir well and let it ferment for another 24 hours. Repeat this feeding process 3 times total (Day 2, Day 3, Day 4). Step 3: Final fermentation (Day 5) After the last feeding, let the mixture sit for another 24 hours without adding anything. ➡️ On Day 5, your ginger bug is ready to use.
