a better idea? do not make them two separate pieces. I mean make the front going from floor up to ceiling even if the door is shorter. Door's top line now is visible, but if you make it one piece to the top it would really be hard to see it

You could have had the panel going all the way to the ceiling. It can pivot with the door. We now see the cut between the door and the top piece of panel…

Okay, but you shouldn’t have cut the wall covering at the top of the door. Should have let that few inches float to truly hide the door.
