Hi so yes the quilts and chairs are actually how ACL was intended to be enjoyed back from the start in 2005! They have oversold the last several years so yes it’s not as convenient to walk around them but it’s the culture <3

That’s because we’ve been going to ACL since it started in 2002 and was $25. Giving zero Fs what anyone thinks. Chair was bought at REI, not Academy.

Do I agree with the chairs in the crowds, no BUT this is how ACL was when it started…. They now oversell tickets and cram wayyyyy too many people into ZILKER and this is why the chairs have become a problem.

why would the chairs impact anyone’s experience i’m confused. there’s a giant standing section in FRONT of the chair zone. 😭 if u wanna stand and suffer, get there early, otherwise not my problem you’re stuck back here w me!

My aunt holds it down for the ENTIREEEE family. we take 3 chairs and a few blankets for the 5-8 of us that go and she holds the fort down and we go for breaks 😌🖤

I miss base camps being the norm. In college we dispersed throughout the day, but always made our way back to our flag - either when we needed a break or at the end of the night - and got to enjoy the last show together. And there was always a set of parents holding down the fort. So fun.

The first ACL I went to was 2019 and I had my kiddos with me and the 60+ ladies sitting in their chairs behind me during Metallica did not mess around, they yelled at anyone that tried to cut through or in front of them and I was in awe of their no f’s to give attitude and I aspire to be like that
