Ive done this for so long 😳 But I am also very OCD about saddle fit and cinch placement and having the cinch not even on both sides makes my eyes twitch 🤪

The girl from Facebook yesterday who has been “training for 50 years” and doesn’t use cheap stuff - 1. Can’t adjust a throat latch correctly, and based on her photos of running barrels she’s an advanced beginner at best. But dang she was convinced she’s right. 😂😂😂

I’m seeing lots of trainers talk about this because of all the grief she got. I’ve never in my life thought it was weird. It allows for more adjustment and better balance. I run most of my saddles, including barrel saddles, with a double latigo. I grew up with every saddle we owned running double latigo or a half breed off billet. Just wait until they see the 3 quarter cinch system we use on our mountain and pack horses 😂

I use a halfbreed off billet, they are similair to the latigo off billet in the way they work.

I prefer two latigos. It is a more even cinch up & prevents pressure going to all one side. Happier horse. I do have a saddle with a nylon billet but it is a double nylon.

I do that and I like it way better. I only use nylon cinches because I like how thin they are but I don’t use the pin holes. Lol
