@kureoy: Mado Kureo: The Veteran Investigator Mado Kureo was a highly respected and veteran Special Class Ghoul Investigator within the Commission of Counter Ghoul (CCG). He was known for his ruthless efficiency, deep-seated hatred for ghouls, and his role as a mentor to the young investigator, Kureo Mado. --- Appearance and Personality Mado was an older man with a gaunt face, sharp features, and slicked-back grey hair. He often wore a standard CCG suit and tie. His personality was defined by an intense and almost fanatical hatred of ghouls, which he saw as inhuman monsters to be exterminated without mercy. He was cold, cynical, and had little patience for sentimentality or those he perceived as weak. Despite this harsh exterior, he cared deeply for his daughter, Akira Mado, and was a dedicated, if brutal, mentor to his partners. Background and Career Mado Kureo's hatred for ghouls was born from personal tragedy. His wife, Kureo Mado's mother, was killed by a ghoul when Akira was very young. This event cemented his worldview and drove him to become one of the CCG's most effective investigators. His career was long and distinguished. He was famous for his expertise and for creating several powerful Quinques (weapons made from a ghoul's Kagune). His most notable creations were: · Kuro and Shiro (Black and White): A pair of powerful, owl-like Quinques made from the Kagune of the ghoul Yoshimura (the One-Eyed Owl). These were his primary weapons. · Douhi (Narcissus): A Quinque he created from the Kagune of the ghoul Rize Kamishiro. This weapon would later be inherited by his daughter, Akira. Role as a Mentor Before the main events of the series, Mado was partnered with a young, idealistic investigator named Kureo Mado. He shaped Kureo's early career, instilling in him his own ruthless philosophy. He famously taught Kureo the mantra: "If you can't devour, you can't create. In other words, if you don't steal from others, you can't create anything." While this was meant in the literal sense of creating Quinques from slain ghouls, it reflected Mado's cynical worldview. Death and Legacy Mado Kureo's death is a pivotal event that occurs before the start of the main storyline. He and his partner, Kureo Mado, were investigating the ghoul restaurant known as "Ghoul Restaurant." There, they encountered the powerful and sadistic ghoul known as the Gourmet, Touka Kirishima, and her friend Ayato Kirishima. During the ensuing battle, Mado Kureo was brutally killed by Touka Kirishima. His death had a profound impact on several key characters: 1. Kureo Mado: Witnessing his mentor's death shattered Kureo's worldview. The trauma led him to develop a more obsessive and unstable personality, though he remained a dedicated investigator. He later adopted a young girl, naming her Akira after Mado's daughter, as a way to cope with his guilt and grief. 2. Akira Mado: The death of her father fueled Akira's own desire to become an investigator. She inherited his Quinque, "Douhi," and carried a cold, professional demeanor, partly as a way to honor his memory. 3. Touka Kirishima: Killing Mado was a traumatic event for Touka as well. It was an act of survival that forced her to confront the brutal reality of the war between ghouls and investigators. Mado Kureo's legacy is a complex one. He is remembered within the CCG as a heroic and skilled investigator. However, his extreme ideology and the trauma his death caused also set in motion many of the conflicts and character motivations that drive the story of Tokyo Ghoul. He represents the cyclical nature of hatred and violence that is a central theme of the series. #tokyoghoul #real #edit
