I’m a liberal, but downtown Los Angeles is a masterclass in how not to be one. In every functional country, the downtown is the cultural heart—food, art, events, safety, life. LA turned theirs into a dystopian wasteland. It’s literally many times worse than some of the so-called “third world” countries I’ve visited. Look at Medellin and Encarnacion.

Was mind blown by how bad their downtown was. As a Chicagoan I just assumed all major cities had clean/safe downtown’s.

I lived in Miracle Mile in LA for three years… wondered why my ex never wanted to go downtown, and then my mom came to visit from Canada and ended up taking her to a concert at the Walt Disney Concert Hall… he gave me his Mercedes ditched me for the concert and that place is in a part of town that isn’t magical at all… it was scary af… lol
