I agree with your assessment but a couple of points stand out. OpenAI is using its large customer base to build an end-to-end platform for development, governance, and observability, similar to what Apple did with iOS. They also see ChatGPT as the new search engine for Gen Z and are keeping users within their ecosystem. Other LLMs may follow, but the platform with the most users wins.
