ok HEAR ME OUT, he watches his mother "die" as a child (she fakes her death) wants to avange her questions whether his personal feelings should make this one killer die when others have been through similar vows to kill all killers, he then finds out his mums "killer" who helped he fake her death was someone he cared about so kills them then starts to see sighns that everyone he cares about is a murderer so ends up killing the love of his life (he fails this) overcome with guilt not knowing if his failure kills himself and his true love moves on with his enemy. (There is more context with this but no more spoilers haha)

I made him spend 6 years in a glass maze where he would see the faces of people that he saw die and even people alive. since my character needs to kill to get oxygen, he would try but the figures would disappear again and again.
