Like many of the other comments, I had a journal where I wrote everything in- until my mother read it, confronted me about what I wrote in it, and then punished me for it. Thank you for these words. I needed this today!

My mom and my dad read mine together over the phone then I got a beating and got called names crazy thing idk the last time I actually wrote down my true feelings thoughts just bouncing around n my head 😫🤦🏽♀️😂

My mom knew I made a diary. Instead of asking about it, she read it and the outcome was not pleasant. I never wrote out loud freely after that. I’ve struggled with articulating my feelings. Keeping so much in. I have so many thoughts and feelings inside & raising 1 daughter & 3 sons. Man I cry daily. Emotionally unavailable dad w/ an emotionally unstable mom. Yes, my dad asked for the divorce and made a “great life” for his wife & stepdaughters. Feels like I’m thuging it out alone
