We did a “park” party for my 1st born whose birthday is only 7 days before my 2nd born. We met at a park, put down blankets under a tree and had cupcakes with friends. The kids played on the park equipment and parents got to visit. Apart from the cupcakes, plates, and napkins, it was free and honestly a hit. A lot of friends followed suit. We don’t need a bunch of single use decorations that kids won’t even remember—playtime with family and friends and CAKE! always makes for a happy birthday!

I got a mesh “bumper” from Amazon that was super breathable so my baby wouldn’t do that while staying safe. A sheet or muselin between the bars could also avoid it.

You’re doing great adjusting! Why not just breastfeed when going out? I pumped with my first and made myself miserable with the whole process but she would only take a bottle🙃Strictly breastfed my second and it was 100% less stressful
